Students of Non-OECD nationality must submit a hard copy of their Certificate of Enrollment (with Apostille or Consular Authentication) and Official Bank Statement according to Korea's immigration regulations.

1) Official Bank Statement(Over 5,000 USD per semester, 9,000 USD per year)
* It can be your guardian's account as long as you show us an official document showing the person's relationship with you.
* Students who study for 1 year(2 semesters) must certify 9,000 USD.


2) Insurance Certification
* It must cover your flight to Korea and gap time before you register for the mandatory National Health Insurance(NHI) iKorea(approximately 2 months or more) + your flight back home
* From March 1st 2021, the Korean government made foreign students studying in Korea mandatorily purchase the NHI for which you can only register after entering Korea.
* We do not want you enter Korea without the insurance, unprotected. Having insurance that covers your travel and during the gap period before the NHI registration is crucial.


3) Valid Tuberculosis(TB) Test Result
* (2025 Spring) For those admitted to the on-campus dormitory : Test must be administered in 2025.

Insurance *Fee is subject to change
Students must obtain their overseas insurance in their home country BEFORE they enter Korea. After coming to Korea, students are OBLIGED to obtain National Health Insurance(Monthly fee: KRW72,000)

Visa Requirements

Students must obtain D-2-6(Exchange Student Visa) BEFORE they enter Korea

* D-2-8(Short-term Study Visa) for visiting students

Distance between each Campus (Seoul & Global)

The campuses are approximately 1.5 to 2 hours apart by car. University shuttle buses run between campuses on weekdays during the semester.


Distance from Airport

It takes around 1 to 1.5 hours by car from Incheon International Airport(ICN) to both campuses

Things you have to prepare upon arrival
  • Spare Money to adjust your life in Seoul eg: Transportation fee, Commission fee when you get official documents and possibly for COVID-19 Test
  • Copies of your documents eg: Passport, Insurance Policy
  • Photos: Can be used for Dormitory application, Registration Card, Visa Issuance
  • Pillow and blanket: For those who stay in Sewha hall.
  • SIM card: Required to get one at the airport
  • Download Kakaotalk Application: Group chat will be created after the orientation

5) Proof of Residency

- Living on-campus: Residence Confirmation from Office of International Affairs or Sehwa hall Dormitory office
- Living off-campus: Copy of rental contract
If the contract is not under the applicant’s name, it is required to submit the copy of accommodation provider’s ID card & Confirmation of Residence/Accommodation

Grading is based on attendance, class discussion, homework, and examinations KHU regulations require a minimum of 70% attendance to receive academic credit
* 1 course = 1~3 credits = 16~48 lecture hours
